Ski touring  in the still unknown areas of the Balkans in Macedonia and  Kosovo  virgin mountains with plenty of snow and peaks to conquer. However for ski touring the best part is Shara mountain. The surrounding peaks peak between 2500 and 2700 meters. The playground is splendid mountains with plenty of clean areas for off piste skiing. Popova shapka Macedonia – Ski resort on Shar mountain Macedonia. Easy reachable by car. There is one mountain hut and a few hotels for suitable accommodation and food. Popova Shapka is also the starting point for the local peaks around Ceripashina 2450m, Karabunar 2600m, Blue Peak 2500 are great for daily backcountry skiing. Also reaching the highest peak of Shar Mountain Titov Peak Popova Shapka is the starting point right from the hotel door.

Brezovica Kosovo – The ski center of Brezovica is located in Kosovo easy reachable by car from Skopje airport and Pristina airport. Located at 1650m it is the popular place for Freeride in Kosovo and its perfect starting point for ski touring. There are multiple options for touring like the peaks of Piribeg and Crn Kamen. Ski touring in Prevalac or Prevalla Kosovo As locals are not very strong hikers most of the time the snow is untouched as you ascend any of the trails. Starting from 1500 meters we climb up to 2571 meters. The whole tour is in an open field while the peaks are visible. On the way back we choose to take the open spaces for skiing .
